17 S4-S5 students joined a Christmas party held by the Interact Club with mentally handicapped people of Ching Lan Home in Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital on 7 Dec, 2014.
The event included a large variety of activities such as games, Christmas carol performance and potluck. The purpose of the event was to bring the festive atmosphere of happiness and joyfulness to them. At the same time, participants learned how to communicate and take care of people with special needs. It was a meaningful and special Christmas party for everyone. Students not only learned the skill of organizing an activity but also understood the importance of teamwork, and the division of labour. Different students took up different tasks and collaborated together. The service was carried out smoothly and efficiently. What’s more, all students feel grateful to have brought fun and food to the needy.
